In the early of the 1990s, VN had become a new destination for travelers and started receiving overseas visitors from all over the world.
Thu Thuy was just a young tailor running a small Silk shop in the local market of Hoi An. There came an idea
that Thu Thuy had to do something for the travelers who came home with a memento from Hoian. Being a business and open-minded lady with her family tradition in tailoring, Thu Thuy decided to create a first 4-hour tailor service in 1989; and that came to be known as Thu Thuy Silk shop nowadays.
Beside running the business, Thu Thuy is also well-known for helping the community in preserving the traditional tailoring via training and in creating more jobs for the locals with the idea, ”Helping the community grow with tourism”.
At the present time, Thu Thuy employs over 50 sales person and 200 tailors working full time. Thanks to the experienced staff and tailors, Thu Thuy is famous for the service and quality. So, unlike other business in the neighborhood, Thu Thuy focus mainly on direct marketing based on the excellent service and quality, so that all the money spent for marketing fee is donated for philanthropic projects in Hoian instead.
